Skating has established its place in the permanent group of new voluntary sports. It is no longer just a children’s game or just a youth hobby. More than five years ago, a 40-year-old skater and a girl skater were rarities – not anymore. Skating is good exercise that develops body control. This is explained by e.g. the fact that the Finnish Heart Association awarded the Skeittiliito an award for promoting the health and exercise of young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hangup is a special media focused on skateboarding. Over the years, Upi has become the only real skateboarding magazine that offers its readers both international international skateboarding and the skateboarding of its Finnish culture, preferably skateboarders in their own language, a tip from the scene through its editors. Today, Hang Up magazine is published once. With Hang Up, you can be part of this hard-to-reach group of pioneers and the diverse spectrum of youth cultures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snowboarding is the winter cousin of skating and surfing, a self-contained winter sport that is very popular in our country. According to ski.fi<\/a> research, the popularity of snowboarding has grown in recent years. There are approx. 850,000 people in the adult population (+18 years) interested in snowboarding \u2013 one in three young adult men follow the sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finland is a very successful country in snowboarding and several top snowboarders from our country have come to the attention of the whole world, such as Roope Tonteri, Rene Rinnekangas, Eero Ettala, Heikki Sorsa, Enni Rukaj\u00e4rvi, Toni Kerkel\u00e4, Sami Luhtanen and so on. So the sport has long traditions and a solid fan base in our country. Many young people still choose a snowboard instead of skis because of its versatile selection of tricks, freedom and relaxed attitude, and in addition, first-generation snowboarders who have reached adulthood teach their children to ride. Nowadays, there are very often snowboarders from 12 to 45 years old on the slopes, all with the same jumps, rails and half pipes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
